Vitality as a Service: What a Health Concierge Actually Does

A health concierge is not a private doctor. It is a coordination layer between the principal, named specialists, longevity programmes and medical evacuation. A working definition.

Vitality as a Service: What a Health Concierge Actually Does

There is no shortage of practitioners in the UHNW health space. There is, however, a recurring problem clients describe to us: a specialist visit goes well in isolation, the screening was thorough, the follow-up letter was articulate — and then nothing connects. The cardiologist's recommendation does not reach the principal's travelling physician. The longevity programme's protocol does not survive a residence move. The second-opinion radiologist is sent slightly the wrong scan.

The role we play is that connective layer. This note defines it.

What a health concierge is not

It is not a private doctor. We do not diagnose, prescribe or treat. We do not pretend to clinical authority we do not hold.

It is not a wellness retreat reservation service. Booking a week at Lanserhof or Chenot is a small piece of what we do, not the centre.

It is not a medical evacuation broker. We work with specialists who do that, and we hold the standing relationship with them.

What a health concierge is

A standing coordination layer between the principal and the medical world. Three concrete things.

Specialist introductions

Across cardiology, oncology, neurology, fertility, paediatric subspecialties, sports medicine, dermatology, and clinical psychology, we maintain confidential introductions to senior consultants at private hospitals in London, Paris, Geneva, Boston, Tokyo and Singapore. The introduction is not a referral. It is a private call from a known intermediary to a specialist who has agreed in advance to take that call. The principal arrives as a named visitor, not as a cold patient.

Second opinion convening

Major diagnoses warrant a second opinion. We coordinate independent expert reviews across jurisdictions — pathology re-read in a different lab, imaging re-read at a different centre, multidisciplinary panel convened by phone or video with three or four senior specialists in different time zones. Documents are translated, scans are uploaded securely, summaries are written. The principal receives a single readable note.

Continuity across residences

A client who lives across three residences in three jurisdictions does not have one general practitioner — they have three. The discontinuity is dangerous. We maintain a single readable medical dossier, encrypted and held under the principal's authority, that travels with the principal and is the briefing document for whichever physician sees them next.

What it costs

The discrete missions are billed transparently — a second-opinion panel is a fixed fee, an evacuation is a quoted cost. The standing readiness is part of the annual retainer.

What it does not do

It does not bypass clinical judgment. It does not push experimental treatment. It does not market longevity claims we cannot verify. It does not maintain relationships with practitioners we would not personally consult.

Why it matters

Because for the population we serve, a delayed second opinion or a missed cross-residence handover can be the difference between a recoverable diagnosis and an unrecoverable one. The cost of getting it wrong is so much greater than the cost of getting it right that the only intelligent answer is a standing coordination layer, available on the principal's terms, across the years.

That layer is what vitality as a service means in practice.
